Owlo's Journey
The name “Owlo” actually came from night owl (because I stay up way too late) and “Lo” from my name, Lola. I first came up with this silly mash-up back in 2014, never realizing it would become such a big part of my life.
On March 7th last year (now officially her birthday!), I sketched a sleepy bunny with blue under-eye circles, like me. She worries too much, cares deeply, loves to gossip, and while she’s soft and gentle, she can also be a little unhinged in the funniest way.
I’d always dreamed of creating my own plush, and when I hosted a product interest survey, I was surprised to see plushies as one of the top requests. That was my sign to start!
After preparing the tech pack, I began the hardest part: finding the right manufacturer. I naively thought I’d get it perfect on the first try… but it actually took three different manufacturers and a lot of patience. The first samples were… let’s say, “character-building.” Can you guess which one I moved forward with?
After going through multiple rounds of revisions from all 3 manufacturer, I decided that Manu 2 matched with my vision the most, and finally got my first real Owlo sample. She was cute, but something still felt off. That’s when I turned to you, my IG followers and in-person market friends, for feedback. Your advice shaped her into the plush she is today, and I’m so grateful.
And now… here she is. Soft, sleepy, and ready to be adopted into your home. I hope she brings you the same joy and comfort she’s brought me.
